What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation or reschedule up to 24 hours before departure. Tours cancelled by us for weather or safety are fully refunded or rescheduled at no cost.

Is a deposit required?

Yes, a small deposit confirms your booking; the remaining balance is settled at check-in.

Safety & requirements

Is dune buggy driving safe?

Yes — every buggy has a roll cage, four-point harness and GPS tracker, every guest is briefed before departure, and guides lead every convoy. See our About page for our full safety standard.

What is the minimum age?

Drivers must be 18+ (16+ with guardian consent on select tours). Passengers can join from age 6 in a two-seat buggy.

Do I need a driving license?

No — standard guided tours don't require a license. A valid license is only required for the self-drive Can-Am Maverick upgrade.

Is insurance included?

Yes, every tour is covered under our commercial desert-adventure insurance policy as a licensed operator.

What happens in bad weather?

We monitor conditions daily and will reschedule or refund any tour we cancel for sandstorm, rain or unsafe wind conditions.

On the day

Where is the pickup point?

Self-drive guests meet us at our Al Badayer Desert base, Sharjah — see the Contact page for the map. Hotel pickup is available across Dubai and Sharjah.

Can I bring my own camera?

Yes, and our guide will also shoot photos for you at the marked photo stop on every tour.

Can children join?

Children age 6+ can ride as passengers in a two-seat buggy or our 4-seat family buggy. There's no minimum age for our Buggy with Camel Ride package's camel-ride portion.

Vehicles

What's the difference between a quad bike and a dune buggy?

A quad bike (ATV) is a single-rider straddle vehicle; a dune buggy is a roll-caged, harnessed 2–4 seat vehicle. Buggies suit groups and couples; quad bikes suit solo riders who want to drive themselves. See our blog comparison for details.

Can beginners drive a Can-Am Maverick?

Yes, with our guide's briefing and a beginner-paced convoy. Our Can-Am Maverick R and X3 tours are suitable for first-time drivers.

Are private tours available?

Yes — the Private Dune Buggy Tour reserves the dune field exclusively for your group, from AED 1,200/buggy.
